IAH Airport Transfers: George Bush Intercontinental
Private car from IAH to anywhere in Houston. Fixed price before you fly, flight tracking and meet & greet.
About George Bush Intercontinental
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) lies north of downtown Houston and has five terminals, A through E, joined before security by an underground Subway train. A multi-year redevelopment program is reshaping the international terminals, so entrances and walking routes can change from one trip to the next.
A pre-booked private transfer gives you a fixed fare in US dollars before you confirm, with tolls and the airport fee built in. We monitor your flight, shift the pickup to match the real landing, and send your driver's details ahead of arrival.
Typical destinations from IAH are downtown Houston, the Galleria and Uptown, the Texas Medical Center, the Energy Corridor, The Woodlands, Katy and Sugar Land.

Getting from IAH to Houston
METRO's 500 IAH Downtown Direct bus leaves Terminal E, Level 2, near the ride app area, and runs to the George R. Brown Convention Center every 30 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Taxis and app-based rides use marked zones at Terminals A, C and E. A private car is the easier choice after a long-haul flight, for arrivals outside bus hours, or for destinations such as Katy, Sugar Land or The Woodlands.
Arrival tips
- Arriving at Terminal D from abroad? You will clear customs and exit into the Terminal E international arrivals hall, not Terminal D.
- Ride app zones are signed at Terminals A, C and E; passengers at Terminal B South take the Skyway to A or C first.
- Taxis wait outside baggage claim at Terminals A, C and E, where airport staff are on duty at the curb around the clock.
- Your transfer confirmation gives the meeting point for your terminal, and the driver's name and phone number are messaged to you before landing.
IAH transfer questions
How long is the drive from IAH to downtown Houston?
The airport sits north of downtown, and the time on the road depends on traffic along routes such as I-69/US-59, which can be heavy at peak hours. Houston Airports does not publish a typical drive time, so we do not state one. Any tolls on the route are included in the fixed price you see when booking.
Why does IAH terminal information keep changing?
IAH is in the middle of a redevelopment program. The B North concourse is open, but its passengers check in through Terminal C, and international arrivals at Terminal D exit through the Terminal E arrivals hall. Because phases open over time, confirm your terminal with your airline shortly before you fly.
Is there a bus from IAH to downtown Houston?
Yes. METRO Route 500, the IAH Downtown Direct, departs Terminal E, Level 2, at Door E201 near the ride app pickup and runs to the George R. Brown Convention Center. Buses leave every 30 minutes, daily from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Outside those hours, a taxi, app ride or pre-booked car is needed.
What happens if my international flight is late or customs is slow?
We track your flight and adjust the pickup to the time you actually land, so a delay does not cancel your ride. Your driver's name and phone number arrive before landing, which lets you call if immigration takes longer than expected. Plans changed earlier? Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup, Houston time.
