Las Vegas Airport to Strip: Transfer Options Guide

Updated 31 Oct 2026 By Airport Transfer USA Operations Team

Getting from the Las Vegas airport to the Strip is one of the shortest airport transfers of any major US city: Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) sits just east of the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard. Your main options are a pre-booked private car, a taxi from the rank, a rideshare app or an RTC public bus, and the right choice depends on your group size, luggage and arrival time.

This guide explains how the airport is laid out, where each type of ride picks up, and how to get to your hotel smoothly, whether you land at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3. For all our routes in the city, see our Las Vegas airport transfers page.

Harry Reid International Airport at a glance

Harry Reid International Airport, formerly known as McCarran, is the main airport for Las Vegas. It has two passenger terminals:

  • Terminal 1 serves many domestic airlines, including Southwest.
  • Terminal 3 handles international flights and several domestic carriers.

The two terminals are separate buildings. An inter-terminal shuttle links them, and the airport’s tram systems link gates within each terminal. Before you land, check which terminal your airline uses, because the ground transportation areas differ.

Las Vegas airport to Strip: your options compared

The distance is short, but the experience varies a lot depending on how you travel. Here is a practical comparison.

Option Where you board Price certainty Best for
Pre-booked private car Meeting point in your confirmation Fixed price before booking Families, groups, late arrivals, business travelers
Taxi Taxi rank outside baggage claim Metered; varies with route and traffic Solo travelers with light luggage
Rideshare app Designated rideshare area in the parking garage Estimate; varies with demand Travelers comfortable waiting at busy times
RTC public bus Terminal 1, Level Zero Fixed transit fare Budget travelers with little luggage

Pre-booked private car

A pre-booked car is the most predictable way to reach your hotel. You know the price before you travel, the driver tracks your flight, and you do not have to queue at the taxi rank or wait for an app match after a long flight. The airport itself notes that if you have pre-arranged a limo or car service, your driver will meet you in baggage claim.

With us, you see a fixed price in US dollars before booking, including tolls and the airport fee. The driver’s name and phone number are sent before you land, and the driver meets you at the terminal meeting point given in your confirmation. Here are our current fixed fares from the Las Vegas airport to popular destinations:

Fixed fares from LAS
To (from LAS)DistanceSedanMinivan
The Strip (Center)4 mi$95$120
Downtown / Fremont Street12 mi$96$120
Las Vegas Convention Center4 mi$95$120
Henderson21 mi$124$155

One way, per vehicle, from the airport, including the airport fee. Your exact price for any address is on the booking form.

Taxi

Taxis wait at ranks outside baggage claim at both terminals. Las Vegas taxis are metered, so the fare depends on the route and traffic. Lines can be long when several flights land together, especially on Thursday and Friday evenings and around big conventions.

Rideshare

Rideshare pickups at Harry Reid use designated areas in the terminal parking garages rather than the curb outside baggage claim. Follow the airport signs after collecting your bags, and allow time for the walk with your luggage.

RTC public bus

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) runs public buses from the airport. According to the airport, the bus stop is at Terminal 1 on Level Zero, served by Route 108 (Paradise) and the Red Line (Maryland Parkway). If you arrive at Terminal 3, take the inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1 first. These routes run on streets east of the Strip, so most visitors need a transfer or a walk to reach their hotel entrance. The bus is inexpensive but is the least practical choice with large suitcases.

Note that the Las Vegas Monorail does not serve the airport. It runs behind the hotels on the east side of the Strip.

Where to meet your driver

Terminal 1

At Terminal 1, the airport places limousines, SUVs and private shuttles on the west side of baggage claim, just outside exit doors 7 through 10. Pre-arranged drivers meet passengers in baggage claim.

Terminal 3

At Terminal 3, limousines, SUVs and private shuttles are on Level Zero, at each end of the building. Again, a pre-arranged driver meets you in baggage claim.

Airport layouts and procedures can change, so always follow the meeting point in your confirmation. If you cannot see your driver, call the phone number you received before landing.

How long does the ride to the Strip take?

Because the airport is so close to the Strip, the drive itself is short. The real variable is traffic. Las Vegas Boulevard can be slow in the evenings, on weekends and during major events, and the route a driver takes depends on where your hotel is and current traffic conditions. Allow more time if you arrive on a Friday evening, during a large convention or on a big fight or concert night.

With a fixed-price car, traffic changes the time but not the price.

Arriving at your hotel

Most Strip resorts are very large, and the main entrance is not always obvious. Give your driver the hotel name and, if possible, the tower you are staying in. Many resorts have separate areas for taxis, rideshare and private cars, and a professional driver will know where to stop.

Popular destinations from the airport include:

  • South Strip resorts near Tropicana Avenue and Mandalay Bay.
  • Center Strip resorts around Flamingo Road.
  • North Strip resorts toward Sahara Avenue.
  • Downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street.
  • The Las Vegas Convention Center and other convention venues.
  • Henderson and Summerlin, for those staying off the Strip.

Choosing the right vehicle

Vehicle Passengers Bags Typical Las Vegas use
Sedan Up to 3 Up to 3 Couples, business travelers
Minivan Up to 6 Up to 6 Families, golf trips
Sprinter Van Up to 14 Check when booking Bachelor and bachelorette parties, conventions, weddings

Groups coming for a celebration often find that one Sprinter Van is simpler than coordinating several taxis. Child seats are available on request if you travel with young children.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is the Las Vegas airport from the Strip?

Harry Reid International Airport sits just east of the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, making it one of the closest major airports to a city’s main hotel district in the US. The exact distance depends on your hotel, since the Strip runs for several miles from south to north, and traffic matters more than distance.

Where do pre-booked drivers meet passengers at Harry Reid Airport?

According to the airport, pre-arranged limo and car service drivers meet passengers in baggage claim. Vehicles wait outside doors 7 through 10 at Terminal 1 and on Level Zero at Terminal 3. With us, always follow the terminal meeting point in your confirmation and call the driver’s number if needed.

Is there a train from the Las Vegas airport to the Strip?

No. The Las Vegas Monorail does not connect to the airport. Public transport from the airport is by RTC bus from Terminal 1, Level Zero, including Route 108 and the Red Line. These run on streets east of the Strip, so most hotels need a transfer or a walk.

Which Las Vegas airport terminal will I arrive at?

Terminal 1 serves many domestic airlines, including Southwest, while Terminal 3 handles international flights and several domestic carriers. Airlines sometimes move between terminals, so check your booking or the airport website before you fly, and make sure the terminal in your car service confirmation matches your flight.

What if my flight to Las Vegas is delayed?

Give your flight number when you book. Our drivers track your flight and adjust the pickup to the actual landing time, so a delay does not mean a missed ride. If your plans change completely, you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup, in local time at the pickup.

Can a large group travel together from the airport to the Strip?

Yes. A Sprinter Van carries up to 14 passengers, which suits bachelor parties, weddings and convention teams. For smaller groups, a Minivan carries up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. Traveling in one vehicle keeps the group together and avoids splitting across several taxis at the rank.

Start your Las Vegas trip without the taxi line. Enter Harry Reid International Airport, your hotel and your arrival date in the search form on our home page to see the fixed price for each vehicle, then book in a few minutes.
