ORD Airport Transfers: O'Hare International
Private car from ORD to anywhere in Chicago. Fixed price before you fly, flight tracking and meet & greet.
About O'Hare International
Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is on the city's far Northwest Side, with the Kennedy Expressway (I-90) running toward downtown. Passengers use four terminals, numbered 1, 2, 3 and 5, which are linked by the Airport Transit System (ATS) train.
Booking a private transfer in advance means you see a fixed price in US dollars before you pay, with tolls and the airport fee already included. We follow your flight, move the pickup to your actual landing time, and send your driver's name and phone number before you arrive.
Most rides from O'Hare go to the Loop, River North and the Magnificent Mile, McCormick Place, the hotel and convention district in Rosemont, and the north and west suburbs.

Getting from ORD to Chicago
The CTA Blue Line runs 24 hours a day from a station on the lower-level concourse, connected directly to Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and the CTA puts the normal ride to downtown at 40 to 45 minutes. Taxis line up at the lower-level curb of every terminal, while Uber and Lyft load on the upper level of Terminals 2 and 3. A pre-booked car skips both queues and works well for families, heavy luggage and suburban addresses away from the train.
Arrival tips
- Using Uber or Lyft from Terminal 1 or 5? Ride the ATS train to Terminal 2 or 3, where app pickups are on the upper departures level.
- Flights from abroad clear customs in Terminal 5, so allow time after landing before heading out to meet anyone.
- Taxis to the city and suburbs wait outside baggage claim at the lower-level curb; the city advises declining rides offered anywhere else.
- With a pre-booked transfer, your confirmation gives the meeting point for your terminal, and the driver's name and phone number reach you before landing.
- The Blue Line station links directly to Terminals 1, 2 and 3; from Terminal 5, take the free ATS train first.
ORD transfer questions
How long is the drive from O'Hare to downtown Chicago?
It depends on traffic, especially on the Kennedy Expressway, which can slow sharply at rush hour, so we do not promise a fixed drive time. For comparison, the CTA says the Blue Line normally takes 40 to 45 minutes to downtown. If you have a dinner reservation or meeting, leave extra margin on weekday afternoons and in winter weather.
Which O'Hare terminal will I arrive at?
That depends on your airline and where you are flying from. Under the current directory, United mainly uses Terminal 1, American uses Terminal 3, and Alaska, JetBlue and Spirit use Terminal 2. Most international arrivals, including United and American flights from abroad, come into Terminal 5. Your boarding pass is the final word, since assignments change.
Where does my O'Hare driver meet me?
The booking confirmation lists the meeting point for your arrival terminal, and the driver's name and phone number are sent before you land. Because we track the flight, the pickup follows your real arrival time, not the timetable, so an early landing or a long delay is handled without you having to rebook. Call the driver directly if needed.
Can I book an O'Hare transfer for a group or with young children?
Yes. A Sedan takes up to three passengers with three bags, a Minivan takes six passengers with six bags, and a Sprinter Van carries up to 14 passengers. Child seats are available on request, so add them when booking. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup, measured in Chicago local time.
